Davies Motor Company is widely recognised as the premier body repair shop in south Wales. After seeing some of the Italian exotica on the company’s social media, we caught up with Managing Director, Sean Davies, to find out more.
When was Davies Motor Company established?
1974. We are a long established, family-run business with over forty-five years experience based just off Hadfield Road. Those of you who know Cardiff will know Hadfield Road as home to the majority of Cardiff’s car dealerships. You could say we’re perfectly positioned.

Davies Motor Company have built an outstanding reputation within the body shop and repair industry. We have gained approval from manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Nissan and Nissan GTR. Due to our consistently high professional standard, and unique quality of workmanship, we are proud to be the only company to achieve this status.

Yes, we love the Italians but we also repair all types of vehicles, not just cars – vans, motorhomes, motorcycles, it’s surprising what turns up. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and Fiat – all years, you’d be amazed. But we do our fair share of other brands too. Aston Martin, Porsche, McLaren, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Mercedes, BMW, you name it, we’ve probably repaired and painted it.
What services do you offer?
Accident repairs – lots of those. Full resprays and restoration.
What types of customer do you attract?
Our customer base are insurance companies, local authorities, manufacturers and dealerships. Private customers are very welcome – we see a lot of high-end vehicles and plenty of classics, but don’t think that you can’t bring any brand or model here. They all look sorry for themselves when they arrive. Whatever the car or model, it’s our job to make them look as good as new.
Do you provide free quotations?
Yes, we do, but you always need to make an appointment. We’re constantly quoting so it gets pretty busy.
What do you do to relax?
I love being with my family, that’s when I’m happiest. And I do love golf. If I’m not at home or in work, I’m almost certainly playing golf.
