Ballet Cymru is thrilled to present Ballet Cymru 2 – Made in Wales featuring the dancers from the Pre-Professional Programme in creations by Wales-based choreographers. This production includes four pieces, showcasing the very best of emerging young dancing talent in Wales today. Each piece is created specifically for these dancers, who will be embarking on their professional dance careers very soon.
Ballet Cymru’s Pre-Professional Manager and ex-dancer for the Zurich Ballet Patricia Vallis is excited to debut ‘Countermove’. This abstract piece draws on the notion of change and how someone’s actions or words can influence the path you will take.
Marcus J Willis, Ballet Cymru’s Resident Choreographer premiers ‘Echos’, this piece celebrates the journey that these young dancers have been on during their time on the Pre-Professional Programme. Focusing on their generous spirits and curiosities as they navigated their pathways, both individually and collectively. This production also features new work by Krystal Lowe and Jack Philp.
“Each dancer was given the time and space to articulate themselves, and their movement vocabulary.”
