Getting there
Cardiff Market is situated in the centre of Cardiff’s vibrant and exciting City centre. There are two entrances and the main entrance is situated on St. Mary Street, with an additional entrance at Trinity Street, opposite St. John’s Church. The Trinity Street entrance is accessed via a pedestrian - ised area which has a peaceful land - scaped garden with seating where you can relax and enjoy a snack purchased from one of the various market stalls.

Opening times
Monday to Saturday, 8am until 5.30pm. There are numerous car parks within walking distance, and the market is only five minutes walk from the Cardiff Central train and bus stations. There are also a number of bus stops around the St. Mary Street entrance.

CARDIFF MARKET
From its humble beginnings as a farmers’ market, trading in livestock and farm produce back in the 1700’s, Cardiff Market has evolved over time and now attracts traders and customers both locally and from as far away as Europe, Asia and the USA.
I can never visit Cardiff.s city centre without walking through the market and taking in the sights and smells of all that’s on offer. I enjoy the stallholders’ banter and can’t help but remember the days when, as a child, my mother used to take us upstairs to see the animals in their cages only to be nagged at for the rest of the day to buy a rabbit. To this day, the market represents one of the main outlets in the city centre for fresh fish, meat and vegetables and a wide variety of non-food goods. This traditional Victorian market remains a well established landmark in the history of Cardiff.
