How long has Taylors Etc been
established?
We opened the store just over four
years ago. It was designed to show the
full range of products and services we
supply in the best way possible. Since
opening, the showroom has won a
number of awards including,
'Excellence in Retailing' and even though bathroom design is just one of our services, the store has been honoured with the UK 'Bathroom Showroom of the Year' award on two separate occasions.
How many designers do you have working with you?
There are six of us plus an all important support team. Many of our designers are qualified architectural interior designers and this level of expertise ensures the service we offer is of a very high standard. I am proud of our team, they're a great bunch to work with and are as passionate about design as I am. Their enthusiasm is contagious - it's great to see them taking the customers' hopes for the project and offering a unique, creative solution.
What services do you provide?
Customers can call into the showroom and just buy a single roll of wallpaper, some tiles for their kitchen, they can commission us to design a bathroom or even the entire interior of their home. We are here to help in which ever way the customer finds most useful.
What products do you display?
Our interiors department offers wall coverings and fabrics from design houses such as Designers Guild, Zoffany and Andrew Martin.
We have tiles from some of the world's most exciting manufacturers and quarries and, as we buy direct, we are very competitive. Our bathroom ranges are wonderful, they enable us to create anything from a simple en-suite clad in stone, to wet rooms and/or steam rooms that add a spa-like quality to a home.
We are just taking delivery of a wonderful range of garden furniture ensuring our customers can extend the design focus of their homes into the garden.
Who do you design for?
Our customer base includes architects, property developers, hoteliers and the general public.
What are you working on at the moment?
We have a number of domestic projects, one being a beautiful old farm house in Brecon, another, a new commission to design the bathrooms of a beautiful gothic style home in Cardiff. We are also working on the interiors scheme for a new restaurant chain, a small boutique Hotel in Pembrokeshire and we are delighted to be working with some inspiring architectural practices producing specifications for tiles on projects such as university buildings and large scale housing developments.
What budgets do you cater for?
That is the exciting thing about design, it shouldn't have to be about how much money you have to spend, it's the way to use your budget that counts. I genuinely believe that you get better value for money when you purchase at Taylor's Etc, as we focus on the design as a whole, helping create an inspiring interior rather than just selling product.
Who would you like to work for?
We like working for a diverse range of customers , it ensures our ideas are fresh and inivative. An ideal customer is someone who is looking for something a little different and who appreciates the impact an interior designer can have on their interior scheme. Some of our most rewarding projects have been those where the customer was happy to let us push the boundaries a little when we created a design based on thier personality and lifestyle.
What would you say is special about Taylors?
We genuinely care. It's important that the products we offer are of a very high standard, the service we offer the customer is very design focused and technically sound and we want the customer's whole shopping experience to be enjoyable. This is why our research shows that over 70% of our customers have either bought from us before or they have been recommended by others who have.
