Cardiff based Ergo and Mansfield Fellowes, two of Wales’ most dynamic law firms have joined forces. We talk to Penylan resident Rebecca Mansfield Fellowes, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Ergo Solicitors, based at Falcon Drive in
Cardiff Bay.
ERGO
Who are you and what do you do?
Rebecca Mansfield Fellowes, a corporate and commercial solicitor, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Ergo Solicitors and Mansfield Fellowes Solicitors.
Where do you live?
I live in Penylan in Cardiff.
Do you have children, if so, where do they go to school?
Not yet but they are on my agenda. I do have two lovely step children though.
What do you most like about Cardiff?
I like the closeness of places and of people and the cultural and ethnical mixture.
Where would you recommend City Life readers go for a totally unforgettable dining experience in Cardiff?
My house on New Years Eve – by invitation only!
What would be your favourite meal?
Goat’s cheese or smoked salmon to start followed by a creamy pasta dish. Or I could pretend and say salad with dressing on the side.
Who would your ideal companion be (excluding your partner which I assume is a given!)
Husband, family and friends aside, I’d like to have dinner with Alan Sugar.
What is your favourite part of Cardiff and why?
Penylan, because it is where my mum is, where my home is, where my husband’s estate agency is and where Roath Park lake is.
Do you have a favourite Cardiff landmark or attraction that is a must to see?
Roath Park lake on a sunny day when the boats are out.
If there is one thing missing from Cardiff, what would it be?
An open air swimming pool. I remember going to the one in Llandaff Fields as a child and loving it as it felt like being abroad.
What annual event in Cardiff is a must?
Well it will be the turning on of the Wellfield Road Christmas lights and Christmas parade if it’s the last thing I do. Cowbridge needs to be given a run for its money.
Favourite music and why?
R n B always but I’m loving Amy Winehouse and James Blunt at the moment. R n B reminds me of my nights in Cha Cha’s nightclub.
What do you do to relax?
I have reflexology at Aroma Holistic Health & Beauty in Pontcanna, the best salon in Cardiff.
What gadget could you not be without and why?
My mobile phone without a doubt, as it keeps me in the know at all times.
If you weren’t in your current job, what would you be doing?
The dream would be an award winning singer/diva, the reality would probably be a (poverty stricken) actress.
Any lifelong ambition?
To be a happily married and noted business woman, with children, animals and a home by the sea.
Can you sum yourself up in just three words.
Independent, fiery and compassionate
Established in June 2006 by Rebecca Mansfield Fellowes, Mansfield Fellowes Solicitors specialise in commercial law with services focussed on the setting up, purchase, development, protection and sale of businesses.
Prior to establishing her own practice, Rebecca trained with Eversheds before specialising in corporate law and then becoming a partner with Cardiff based Capital Law. She now becomes a consultant with Ergo.
Michael Burne, Director of Ergo Solicitors commented, “We have worked hard over the last year to develop our own business and remain keen to exploit the opportunities in this changing market. Developing our client offering to include a broader commercial service alongside our employment law team was an obvious step to take.”
Rebecca Mansfield Fellowes added, “This is a hugely exciting time as I head the Corporate & Commercial department at Ergo solicitors and at Mansfield Fellowes solicitors. Both practices have shared values and objectives which are absolutely focussed on ensuring the strong delivery of pragmatic and commercial legal solutions for the SME market in South Wales.” |
