Light up a child’s Christmas with a Letter from Santa in aid of the NSPCC

Santa Claus and his elves are starting their Christmas duties early this year as the NSPCC Cymru/Wales launches its Letter from Santa fundraising appeal sponsored by Hotpoint.

Parents, grandparents, families and carers can support the children’s charity and sprinkle some magic into a child’s Christmas by arranging for a personalised letter from Santa to be delivered to their front door.

Local fundraiser Julie George said: “Letter from Santa is a brilliant way to create the festive spirit and make a child’s Christmas very special. For a suggested donation of just £5, they will receive a personalised letter, flown all the way from Lapland by Santa’s trusted reindeer, Rudolph. A letter can also be sent for 'baby's first Christmas' and they are also available in Welsh.

“It is important to remember though that Christmas is not a time of celebration for every child. Over the 12 days of festive cheer last year, ChildLine – a service provided by the NSPCC - counselled 4,928 children who were in danger or distress and had nowhere else to turn. By supporting this appeal you will be helping to provide support, advice and protection for these children who are in desperate need of help.”

To receive a letter from Santa for a child you know, you can order via email at walesfundraising@nspcc.org.uk or calling 029 2026 7008.  Alternatively look out for a Letter from Santa order postcard in your local Principality, Debenhams or SPAR store.
