Celtic Manor restaurant doubles in size and launches fresh menu

The Lodge Brasserie at The Celtic Manor Resort has doubled in size as part of a major refurbishment.

The restaurant has increased its capacity from 30 covers to 60 covers and the makeover has also seen rustic new menus and furniture introduced.

The lunch menu sees traditional British favourites like a starter of bubble and squeak cake with fried egg, and main courses of bangers and mash, fish and chips, and lamb shank, while the dessert choice for both lunch and dinner includes sticky toffee pudding and knickerbocker glory.

The prices are also a throwback in these credit-crunched times with a two-course lunch costing just £12.95 and a special offer to enjoy 30 per cent off dinner until the end of March (restrictions apply).

The restaurant has expanded from its original sunken lounge area to incorporate part of the former bar area of The Lodge, the original golf clubhouse at Celtic Manor.

The expansion means dining tables are now available by the cosy fireside while the new bar has benefited from new high bar stools and a more clearly defined partition with leather paneling. Distressed leather also furnishes the new chairs in both bar and restaurant while the tables are fashioned from rustic pine.

“The changes have really improved the atmosphere in the restaurant and allowed many more diners to enjoy the stunning views of the golf course which are such a feature of The Lodge Brasserie,” said Matthew Lewis, Manager of The Lodge.

“The new menus offer great variety and value with the full lunch menu at £12.95 for two courses proving particularly popular.”

The Lodge Brasserie is open to everyone, not just members and hotel guests, and to celebrate the new look and entice people to come and see it for themselves, The Lodge Brasserie is currently offering a 30 per cent discount on dinner (after 7pm) for bookings of four people or less. The discount applies only to food and is not available on Tuesdays, Fridays or Saturdays, please quote 'LODMEM30' when booking.
