BONMARCHÉ CARDIFF FLAGSHIP TAKES 70% MORE SALES THAN PREDICTED

Following a storming opening day and a fantastic first few days of business, high street retailer Bonmarché’s first flag ship store, which opened in Cardiff on the 8th of October, is already proving a huge success with local women.

In an opening ceremony attended by world famous designer David Emanuel, who has a range with the brand, hundreds of excited shoppers descended on the new store forming queues so long they had to be controlled by the ever helpful Bonmarché staff!

"I was absolutely thrilled with public response to the new Bonmarché store in Cardiff. I've always been really proud of my association with the brand and, as a local boy, this was something of a homecoming for me. The Bonmarché customers are the most loyal I've ever known and, from the feedback I got at the opening, I know they are all really excited about having a store in their city." David Emanuel.

The success of the first day trading was repeated in the following days, with the store handling a staggering 70% more sales than expected.

"We expected great things from the opening of our Bonmarché flagship store in Cardiff, but nothing could prepare us for the terrific response from the brand’s Welsh fans.  From queuing outside for two hours to get in, to the crowds of women rushing the rails, the launch was a tremendous success.  Even more importantly, sales smashed our expectations and could not have been better.  We are obviously doing something right, so it’s great to meet the customers face-to-face and get their feedback." Richard Kirk, Chief Executive, The Peacock Group.

Bonmarché sells fashionable womenswear for real women in sizes 12-24.  It has over 380 stores nationwide.  The David Emanuel and David Emanuel Casual’s collection is available in sizes 10-22 and is available in 300 stores.
