Prestigious Car Brand Set To Be The ‘Driving Force’ Behind This Year’s Polo In The City

Wales based polo organisation Castell Polo has secured a major sponsorship deal with Motorline Maserati Cardiff, the exclusive dealer in Wales of the prestige Italian ‘super car’.

Motorline Maserati will be headline sponsors of this years, Polo in The City set to take place on Saturday 25th June 2016.

General Manager of Motorline Maserati Cardiff, Lyn Evans said: “Polo and luxury cars go hand in hand. Maserati supports Polo all over the world and this seemed like the perfect brand match for us as both represent, glamour, excitement and prestige. We’re very excited to work with this dynamic local organisation and look forward to developing the partnership over the coming months.”

Motorline Maserati presents Polo in the City – will take place within a specially created Polo Village on Pontcanna Fields, Bute Park, Cardiff. Spectators can expect a day of glamourous polo action in the picturesque surroundings of the Polo Village or hospitality marquee. In addition to the match, there will be a variety of street food stands exhibiting as well as a pop-up bar in association with the cool cocktail venue, Ten Mill lane. Shortlisted in this year’s, Best Watering Hole and Best Cocktail Bar category for our Cardiff Life Awards.

Event organiser, Shakira Obaid, director at Seren7 ltd said: “Our decision to host the event at the heart of the city last year paid off. The ‘Castell Polo Presents Series’ is fast becoming regarded as one of the most talked about events of the summer season and to have such an iconic luxury brand on board will help us to ‘drive’ Castell Polo forward.

We are excited to further build on the Castell Polo brand and are confident that the Maserati name will help us to attract our biggest crowd yet. It’s going to be a huge year for Wales in terms of sport and we plan to demonstrate that Wales has more to offer than just rugby and football, but we certainly don’t expect to overshadow the Euro’s 2016!” 

Castell Polo was established in 2014 to give a platform to the prestigious sport in Wales with the view to make Polo more accessible to the masses. 

Last year’s event, Castell Polo Cymru Select Vs Watches of Wales select was the first Polo event in the capital for over 5 years and featured rising Polo star, Edward Williams, of Vale of Glamorgan. The event was endorsed and umpired by Dan Banks, the former professional who played for Great Britain in three world championships. The 2016 teams will be announced in Spring 2016.
