There’s a distinctly wintery feel to this issue. Our cover star, the superb Ski & Snowboarding Centre in Fairwater, is certainly the place to be if you’re preparing for a cool, winter skiing holiday. On the other hand, you could just hang out and have fun!
To warm things up, there are some excellent eateries featured. The Humble Onion is a firm favourite. We visited recently and enjoyed an excellent meal. The Gwaelod is another firm favourite – perfect for Sunday lunch but you’ll have to book, this great pub is always popular. If you like Italian, The Italian Way in Canton, and Giovanni’s opposite the New Theatre are firm favourites.
Talking about Canton, if you’re looking for a pair of good shoes, visit the Canton Cobbler. They recently brought a good, but tired, pair of much-loved boots back from the dead – superb service and great people.
You’ll notice the RNLI Penarth Fashion Week features prominently in this issue. We were delighted to be involved and what started out as a small idea has grown into a brilliant spectacle. We can’t wait for next year.
If you’re stuck for gifts, there are plenty of ideas and if you’re looking for cards, Halls Of Llandaff have a truly amazing collection. Well worth a visit.
Health is on everyone’s minds at this time of year with coughs and colds. We visited the European Scanning Centre which was a real eye-opener and our friends at Rhiwbina Dental continue to champion excellent dental care at every opportunity.
If you’re in the mood to compete, you could take your chances on page xxx. We have afternoon tea at Cowbridge’s iconic Penny Farthing and a serious pampering session at Amorio in Penarth up for grabs.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas. See you again in the spring.
