WELCOME

Cardiff’s bustling city centre has always been a great place to shop and with the much anticipated opening of the new St David’s 2 and John Lewis store, I think we can safely say that we’ve arrived.

The new development can only mean good things for Cardiff, but let’s hope it brings more shoppers to the city’s borders too. There’s definitely a feeling of anticipation in the air that the recession may well be over and, with Christmas around the corner, presents need to be bought. Check out my Editor’s Choice pages for ideas on what to buy your loved ones this year.

Hopefully you’ll be a lot wiser than me and, armed with your Christmas shopping lists, you’ll be hot footing it into town for a good old spend and having everything wrapped up (literally) in plenty of time. This issue is a bit of a homage to the festive season, with ideas for presents for family and friends, gorgeous winter clothes in sumptuous fabrics and daring colours.

Keeping with the festive theme, if you’re planning a family party or a company boss looking to thank your hard working staff with a Christmas party to remember, then have we got the event planner for you! Paul Williams Events can plan your party, wedding or any celebration for that matter, and make it a truly memorable occasion. Check out pages 24 to find out why this company should be on your speed dial.

I hope you manage to get all that’s on your list this year. For those of you not as organised, perhaps our paths will cross as we frantically run from shop to shop on the 23rd? You know who you are!

Enjoy the winter and have a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
